My Digital Art Journey (2013-2015)

It's been almost 2 years since I started digital art. Trust me, it was started on impulse! I was like suddenly gone nuts and wanted to buy a Wacom graphic tablet. I did some online research on the type of tablet that I wanted because Wacom did have many wonderful products under it. It was like a paradise for me when I stumble upon their website. And it was a perfect timing when I did the research because Wacom introduced Intuos (previously named Bamboo) and their design just captivated me like there is no way for me to turn back. Picture below will show the old Bamboo and the new Intuos.

HOW CAN I NOT LOVE THE NEW DESIGN?!!!! I'm like THAT'S IT!!! I'M GONNA FREAKIN' BUY THAT SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I decided to buy Wacom Intuos Manga, as it comes with the manga illustration software (CLIP Studio Paint PRO). Okay.. I did a lot of research for this product, I put this as my wishlist instantly!

KYAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! I was like super excited that time as this new design was just one week old by the time I discovered it. I'm quite afraid that Malaysia do not have this new product so soon. My sem break is already coming and I gotta get this!!! I NEED IT!!!! AARRGHHHH!!!!!

Therefore, I went and research Malaysia's Wacom distributor and I found one store named C-zone, which located in Lowyat. I emailed them, asking of this new product and you know what? THEY HAD IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was like OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They asked me if I wanted them to reserve for me but I don't want to spoil other people's dream ma.... So I decline..... BLA BLA BLA

And here comes my beloved sem break, I told my bro I gotta go to Lowyat no matter what!!!! He rolled his eyes as I was speaking but WHATEVER!!!!!!!!!!! I'm gonna go get it!!!!!! So I attacked the store and brought home my trophy, with the price of RM409 (It probably had increased the price by now). I was so excited... I quickly unboxed my trophy without snapping a picture beforehand.... Whatever.... Here's the first look (on that time, I marked the calender, 20th September 2013)!!!

YAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I was so excited!!! Again!!!!! OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! When CLIP Studio Paint PRO (CSP) was installed, I quickly tried it!!! No more waiting!!!!! So here's the first fucked up attempt.....

I still haven't get used to it bhaaaaaaaaaaaa.... Gimme some time...... And I continued for my second attempt......

Looks weird, but I got a hang of it edi.... I just need more practices..... I didn't went to art school, so I had to self-study on the controlling and the coloring.... I hope I can make it better.... :/

So the 3rd and more attempts continues.... I tried to do lineart and inking.... This is the very first line art of mine.

OK LAH... Looks crooked but let's don't judge this first lahhh... I promise better versions will come later...

Then I got better a bit... I did more line arts.....

I continued to experiment and practice.... Eventually... I got my most liked/favourite line art... Which is this....

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I really like to draw females you know... Loved them, especially strong independent females... These kind of things just kept me going..... You know.... #foreveralone

Then my journey just went deeper and deeper.... I started manga arts experimentations.... I always wanted to start a manga but I was out of ideas and LAZY.... Yeah... That explains all... So here is some of my old doodles....
I wasn't satisfied with the style of art... So I seized to continue. Then, I continued to explore and practice... Changed my drawing styles drastically during the 2 years frame and produced quite a lot of arts... Most of them are character designs.... However, one thing you need to know is that each of the piece had their meanings and reflected the different moods and emotions of mine... I'll leave that in another post to explain each of them in details... Let's see the best 32 arts that I've been produced during 2013 to 2015.

So here ends my long post. I can only tell you drawing is the hobby I loved the most... I enjoyed it so much since I was as young as I could remember. Maybe when I started working, I will eventually have lesser practice than I had now. But I always known that drawing is always the best stress reliever for me. A good escape from the reality. I hope I can continue the passion. I do hoped.

vons end.
